Police have arrested two men, aged 21 and 19, following a violent robbery in Limassol that left two foreign nationals injured, authorities said.
The suspects face charges of robbery, grievous bodily harm, assault, and racially aggravated offences. They are due to appear before Limassol District Court on Monday for a remand hearing.
The incident occurred around 23:30 local time on Saturday when a group of approximately 15 individuals attacked two foreigners on Melina Mercouri Street in Polemidia, near the junction with Pafos Avenue.
The victims reported that the assailants stole €300 and a mobile phone before fleeing the scene. Both men sought treatment at Limassol General Hospital, where one was found to have sustained a broken nose. The other victim suffered bruising and abrasions to various parts of his body and was kept in for further treatment.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers interviewed the victims at the hospital. An investigation is ongoing to identify other suspects involved in the attack.
