A 41-year-old man was seriously injured and is being treated in intensive care at a private hospital after a towing accident in Trachoni, Limassol, yesterday.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 pm, while a 34-year-old was towing the vehicle in which the 41-year-old was travelling as the driver.

Under circumstances still being investigated, the towing mechanism on the first vehicle appears to have detached, causing the 41-year-old to suffer a serious head injury.

Police officers went to the scene to carry out an examination, while the 41-year-old was taken by ambulance to a private hospital, where he remains in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

A preliminary alcohol test was carried out on the 34-year-old, with a zero reading. The Episkopi Police Station is continuing its investigation.
