Plans are progressing for the “Little Heroes” park, which will be located on Kyrenia Avenue in Aglantzia, Nicosia, and designed to meet the needs of all children.

Philenews contacted the “Little Heroes” Foundation regarding plans for creating the park in Aglantzia, which is expected to be completed by summer 2026.

According to the “Little Heroes” Foundation, discussions about creating the park began in 2023, before the Local Government Reform, with the Organisation expressing its intention to implement the project.

The park will include specially designed equipment for all children, while a small amphitheatre will also be designed to meet the Foundation’s needs.

The cost of the project will be fully covered by the “Little Heroes” Foundation, which has already received sponsorship offers from major organisations to support the construction of the park.

The park will feature play equipment for all children, including specially designed equipment for children with mobility issues.

Representatives of the “Little Heroes” Foundation told Philenews that there are plans to create a small amphitheatre which will be used for informational purposes and Foundation events.

“It will be a jewel of a park for the area, particularly well-designed for the needs of children, the little heroes. Anyone will be able to access it and use it with respect and love for the space,” Foundation representatives told Philenews.

Work on the project design began immediately, and according to the Foundation, the park will be illuminated and all required safety regulations will be followed. The Foundation has consulted specialists who design such parks.

A positive aspect of the project is that the park will be located in a busy area of Aglantzia and will be accessible to the public.

It should be noted that the land belongs to the Municipality of Aglantzia and is being provided to the “Little Heroes” Foundation for design and implementation purposes.

The creation of the park is part of a Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2024 by the founder of the “Little Heroes” Association and MEP, Loukas Fourlas, and the Deputy Mayor of Aglantzia, Andreas Constantinou.

Deputy Mayor Constantinou stated, “The ‘Little Heroes’ park, which was planned before the Local Government Reform, will brighten children’s days and fill their hearts with joy and creativity. Every child’s voice that will fill this space will remind us of the courage, strength and optimism that children can teach us. I am proud that the Local Government contributes to this important initiative, providing a green and accessible space for every child and every family that dreams of living in a more humane and sustainable city”.

It should be noted that the design and implementation of the project must be approved by the new Municipal Council, as specified in the adoption agreement.
