A 39-year-old man is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Limassol following a brutal assault linked to a housing dispute and a €3,000 robbery.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man yesterday in connection with the incident, which occurred on Thursday afternoon, February 5, 2026. The suspect faces charges of assault causing grievous and actual bodily harm, issuing threats, and theft from a residence.

The investigation began around 7 p.m. on Thursday after police received reports of an injured man on a Limassol street. Officers located two individuals, aged 23 and 41, who reported that their landlord had visited their home earlier that day and threatened them, demanding they vacate the property.

According to the complainants, the landlord returned shortly after with a group of masked accomplices. The tenants—the 23-year-old, the 41-year-old, and their 39-year-old roommate—fled the scene. The group pursued them, eventually intercepting and beating the 41-year-old and the 39-year-old.

The 39-year-old sustained severe injuries, including a laceration to the head, a skull fracture, and fractured ribs. Upon returning to their home, the victims discovered that €3,000 had been stolen.

Evidence gathered during police inquiries led to a warrant for the 29-year-old suspect, who remains in custody as Limassol CID continues its investigation.
