The first dog park in the municipality of Latsia-Geri has opened to the public, giving pet owners a dedicated space for their dogs.
Latsia-Geri mayor Christos Pittaras told Philenews that the park cost €80,000 and was funded from the municipality’s own resources.

The park is located on the border between the Latsia-Geri municipality and the South Nicosia-Idalion municipality. Pittaras said it can serve both the municipal districts of Latsia-Geri, as well as districts belonging to other municipalities.
The park is open to the public from 7 am until evening and is divided into two sections, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs.

Dogs weighing under 10kg use one area, while dogs weighing more than 10kg use the other, Pittaras said.
The park includes play equipment that owners can use with their dogs, rubbish bins, bags and a temporary parking area next to the site with space for up to 50 cars.
Pittaras said the municipality is also moving ahead with plans to create a similar dog park in the Geri municipal district.
