Police have identified the driver allegedly responsible for driving off a 65-year-old man on his windscreen along a Larnaca motorway last Wednesday and have secured an arrest warrant against him.

Police spokesperson Vyronas Vyronos told state television that after evaluating witness statements, authorities identified the suspect and obtained the warrant. The vehicle seen in a video that circulated on social media has also been located. Police said efforts to locate the suspect’s car are continuing.

The incident occurred on the road between the Rizoelia and Kalo Chorio roundabouts in Larnaca. According to police, following a road collision, the 65-year-old got out of his vehicle and approached the second car to exchange details. A police patrol car arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.

The second driver then allegedly attempted to flee by driving off. The 65-year-old tried to stop him and ended up on the windscreen as the vehicle moved along the motorway. He eventually fell onto the road, sustaining minor injuries including bruising and abrasions. The other driver left the scene.
