The fire that broke out in the early hours of Thursday morning, destroying a vehicle belonging to a 26-year-old in Larnaca, has been confirmed as a malicious act.

Investigations conducted by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have secured witness testimony confirming the incident was an arson attack.

Two fire service vehicles responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, which had already caused significant damage.

The fire completely destroyed the 26-year-old’s vehicle and caused collateral damage to the rear section of another car parked adjacent to it, belonging to a different owner.

Case investigators are now pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to establish potential motives behind the attack.

Authorities are also seeking additional evidence from closed-circuit surveillance systems in the surrounding area that might provide crucial information regarding the perpetrators’ identities or movements before and after the incident.
