Neither today were the four accused individuals, aged 41, 44, 22, and 21, called upon to respond to the charges related to the murder of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos, which occurred on the morning of October 30, 2023, in a coastal restaurant parking lot in Limassol.
As previously reported by Philenews, additional evidence was provided to the lawyers of the accused.
The lawyer of the first accused (aged 41) addressed the court, stating that they had just received the additional evidence and it has not yet been reviewed.
On behalf of the 44-year-old accused, his lawyer stated that a significant portion of the evidence is missing.
The lawyer of the 21-year-old mentioned that their clients have been condemned by the Mass Media, noting that crucial evidence is still lacking.
They also stated that the police rushed to file the case without completing the collection of all evidence.
Furthermore, they mentioned that essential witnesses have not been provided, and scientific examinations are pending.
The lawyer of the 21-year-old further emphasized that from the examination of the existing evidence, it appears that the client is not connected to the alleged crimes.
The Prosecution did not object to granting more time for a response. Additionally, the lawyers were urged to send a request for the missing documents.
Regarding the request for an inspection of the case file, it was noted that such a request is not provided for by law.
At this point, the lawyer of the 21-year-old also mentioned that four other individuals resembling the motorcycle driver have been arrested in connection with the case.
After hearing from both sides, the Criminal Court adjourned the proceedings until March 14 to allow time for all evidence to be submitted.
The proceedings took place under strict security measures, with members of the Force wearing bulletproof vests.
