In addition to the Cypriots in Israel, many of whom are expected to arrive within the day, hundreds of Israelis are seeking refuge in our country.
According to passengers who arrived at Larnaca airport on Sunday morning, the situation is dire in Israel and many are looking for flights to reach Cyprus. “First time we are leaving our country and we are not happy. Yesterday we arranged to leave Tel Aviv and we chose Cyprus. We booked a room here.
We didn’t do it for ourselves but for our two children. Our parents stayed behind. We are very worried,” said a mother of two minor children from Israel. Another mother of three minor children said they arrived in Cyprus to be safe, noting that many of their friends are looking for a flight to come to Cyprus.
“It’s a very difficult situation and that’s why we ran with our children to leave. They have kidnapped children but we don’t know how many more. We took a flight from Israel to Athens and from there we came to Cyprus. We tried to find direct flights but they are all full to Cyprus. We are staying in a hotel in Limassol.
We don’t know for how long, we’ll stay as long as we need to. A lot of our friends will come and stay in Paphos.” It is noted that within the day, according to the Foreign Ministry, Cypriot pilgrims who were in Jerusalem are expected to arrive.
