Cyprus Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis has hailed today as “historic” as President Christodoulides prepares for talks with US President Joe Biden at the White House, marking the first such meeting between leaders of the two nations in 28 years.
Writing on X, Letymbiotis announced the arrival of President Christodoulides and his delegation in Washington, describing the scheduled 11:30 local time (17:30 Cyprus time) meeting as evidence of significantly improved bilateral relations.
The meeting is “proof of the significant upgrading of relations between the two countries and our country’s diplomatic extroversion”, he wrote.
