The Department of Meteorology said that today, Saturday, once morning low cloud and scattered mist or fog clear, the weather will become mostly clear across most of the island, with temporary increased cloud at times. From around midday onwards, cloud developing over the mountains and inland areas is expected to bring isolated rain and isolated thunderstorms, with hail possible during any storm.
Winds will be variable and light in the morning, at 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily reaching strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, on west-facing coasts. The sea will initially be smooth to slight, becoming temporarily slight on west-facing coasts in the afternoon.
Temperatures will rise to around 35 degrees inland, around 30 on the western and southwestern coasts, around 32 on the remaining coasts, and around 25 degrees on the higher mountains.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the weather will be generally mostly clear, with locally increased cloud at times. Temperatures will rise gradually until Monday, returning to levels above the seasonal average, before a slight drop is expected on Tuesday.
