With the Cyprus problem back at the forefront, French Ambassador Salina Grenet-Catalano sent a clear message through Phileleftheros stressing that a two-state solution cannot be an option and would be detrimental to both Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
The French ambassador also stressed that things do not have to remain as they are and “with political will and flexibility, it is possible to achieve a just and viable solution in the form of a federation with a single international personality.”
On the new crisis in the Middle East, Salina Grenet-Catalano welcomed the Cypriot initiative on the maritime humanitarian corridor and said that once the conditions are met, especially security conditions, then her country will consider participating.
France paid a heavy price in the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas on 7 October with 41 victims, while three French nationals are still missing or held hostage.
