Cyprus has reassured passengers that flights to and from Paphos remain safe, following measures by Israeli authorities that led to flight diversions affecting Israeli carriers.
Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou confirmed the safety of all flights operating to and from both Paphos and Larnaca airports, emphasising that the current restrictions apply only to Israeli-owned airlines.
Israeli state television reported Thursday afternoon that security authorities are expected to lift the emergency security measures affecting Israeli airline routes to and from Paphos Airport by this weekend, citing well-informed sources close to national security services.
The Israeli state broadcaster clarified that the emergency security measures were not related to Paphos Airport’s facilities or infrastructure.
