Nicosia district fire stations responded to a blaze in the UN buffer zone near Geri on Tuesday, deploying three fire engines under United Nations escort.
The fire, which is now under control, started in an agricultural vehicle inside the buffer zone and spread to dry grass, reeds and hay bales, covering an area of approximately one square kilometre.
