Fire broke out in the living room of a private home in Frenaros, Famagusta district, causing extensive damage, authorities said.
The fire service responded to the incident at 16:56 on the previous day, following a call reporting a blaze inside the house.
The living room sustained extensive damage, while smoke and heat affected the paintwork throughout the entire property, according to the announcement.
Three fully staffed fire engines were deployed to tackle the fire.
Authorities said the fire was caused by heat radiation from a wood stove, which had been operating too close to furniture in the living area.
