Citizens, in social media posts, mention that they felt the tremor, which, according to the European Seismological Centre, had its epicentre in the sea west of Paphos.
It is noted that this is one of the strongest tremors in recent years, and it shook the coastal area, the city of Paphos, and the northern suburbs of the city.

The seismic activity was felt for several seconds, leading to concerns in areas near the coastal zone.
Despite the late hour, which meant limited movement and human activity, the intensity of the phenomenon caused many to leave their homes until the situation calmed down.
