Authorities are investigating the fire that caused extensive damage to a cafe in the EAC settlement area of Dhekelia, with officials not ruling out the possibility of criminal activity.
Police and fire service investigators are examining the premises, owned by a 48-year-old man, in an effort to determine the precise cause of the blaze that resulted in significant property damage.
The fire, which was detected shortly after midnight, was extinguished by members of the British Bases Dhekelia Fire Service with supporting units from the Republic’s Fire Service responding to provide additional resources.
Extensive damage occurred throughout the interior of the establishment.
