Thunderstorms and hail will hit parts of Cyprus today, the Meteorological Department said.
The weather will start out partly cloudy, but rain and isolated thunderstorms will develop gradually. These conditions will mainly affect the mountains, inland areas, and the southeast, with hail expected during storms.
Winds will start light and variable at 3 Beaufort before shifting southwest to northwest. They will eventually become light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, though exposed coasts will see temporary strong winds reaching 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to 26°C inland, around 24°C on the southern and eastern coasts, around 22°C on the western and northern coasts, and 14°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight will remain mostly clear, though low clouds will build up locally. Patchy fog may form in some areas during the early morning hours. Night winds will blow from the northwest to northeast, and from the southeast on the northern coast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
