The Ministry of Health will cover the full cost of repatriating the body of a 17-year-old boy who died last week from bacterial meningitis complications at Nicosia General Hospital.

The ministry has completed all necessary arrangements for transferring the teenager’s remains to Romania, his mother’s home country, following communication with the family.

Two other young patients – an infant and a 16-year-old girl – were also hospitalised during the same period with severe bacterial meningitis symptoms. Both responded successfully to medical treatment and have since returned home.
