Cyprus’s Child Exploitation Investigation Unit (UDYEP) recorded 60 convictions for the sexual abuse of minors in 2025, the unit has announced.

UDYEP said each figure represented a case investigated in depth through a systematic and specialist approach. The unit works alongside Hope For Children CRC Policy Center and the House of the Child to provide support to victims at every stage of the process.

The unit said its work was guided by three principles: prompt and effective investigation, child-friendly investigation procedures, and substantive support at every stage.

Protecting children is the responsibility of all of us, UDYEP added.
