The Third China-Cyprus Youth Forum took place this week at the European University of Cyprus, bringing together 60 young representatives from both nations to explore cooperation in civilisational exchange, digital transformation, and green development.

The event, jointly organised by the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus, the Nanjing City government, Cyprus’s Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, and Larnaca City authorities, aimed to celebrate strengthening bilateral youth relations.

At the opening reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy, Ambassador Liu Yantao joined Nanjing Municipal People’s Congress Vice Director Xu Ming, Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos, and former European University Rector Professor Gouliamos in emphasising the importance of cross-cultural exchange for future prosperity.

The forum has drawn participation from diverse sectors including government, business, academia, research, and media, with 30 delegates from each country.

The event’s programme culminated on Friday with a plenary session at the European University of Cyprus, where participants unveiled the China-Cyprus Youth Declaration, setting out a framework for future collaboration between the two countries.
