Blood supplies in Cyprus are at marginal levels, said the Head of the Blood Center, Androulla Panayiotou, who appeals to the public to go to the Blood Donation Stations and give blood before leaving for their holidays.
According to Ms. Panayiotou, a number of stocks are currently available, however, she noted, due to the low turnout of blood donors ahead of the holidays, these stocks are “at risk.”
She appealed to the public to donate blood before leaving for the holidays so as not to disrupt the security of sufficient supplies.
Panagiotou said the need for blood is ongoing, as surgeries have not stopped, and accidents have increased at this time, which require large quantities of blood.
