A balcony collapsed this morning in Germasogeia.
No injuries occurred.
The incident took place early on Friday, on Georgiou A’ Street along the coastal road of the Municipality.
According to locals, “Luckily, there were no casualties, as the mentioned balcony borders a sidewalk leading to the beach and is used daily by many citizens.”
At the same time, as they emphasize, it is an urgent need to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the protection of citizens, with the most significant being the implementation of legislative regulations for the regular inspection of buildings.
“The Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) has repeatedly submitted significant and well-documented proposals on this issue, and the state should finally take them seriously and assume its responsibilities,” concludes a resident of the area in a post on social media.
