A mandatory evacuation order for the Akrotiri area remains in force, with residents urged to leave for safety reasons, according to Philenews sources, following a drone strike on Monday, March 2.
The situation is expected to be reassessed on Friday. Schools in the area will remain closed until then.
The closure affects all primary and pre-primary schools in Akrotiri, Asomatos, Episcopi and Trachoni, as well as secondary schools in Episcopi and Trachoni. The measure applies to teaching staff, pupils and all other school personnel.
