A coordinated raid by suspected AEL football supporters on a rival club’s premises turned a Limassol neighbourhood into a battleground at midnight, resulting in property damage and violent clashes.
A group of masked individuals, identified by police as AEL fans, allegedly moved to attack the Apollon club on Messolongiou Street in the city centre.

Witnesses suggested the confrontation was planned, as Apollon supporters were reportedly waiting inside the premises, ready for the clash.
The groups engaged in fierce fighting, using sticks and various objects, with the assailants throwing flares and Molotov cocktails.
The violence resulted in extensive damage to 11 vehicles parked outside the club.
Police arrived quickly, sealing off the scene. While the hooded individuals were pursued, they managed to flee the area before arrests could be made.

The scene remains under guard as police conduct on-site examinations and searches. Investigators will also review local closed-circuit surveillance footage in an effort to identify the perpetrators and their vehicles.
