Energy minister George Papanastasiou will meet with French cable manufacturer Nexans in Nicosia next Thursday, November 7, to discuss the Cyprus-Crete electrical interconnection project, known as the Great Sea Interconnector.
In statements to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), the energy minister said this would be a routine meeting where Nexans, which holds the largest contract for the electrical interconnection valued at 1.4 billion euros, would provide updates on the contract’s implementation and future developments.
“The contract includes seabed surveys, and we expect to receive updates on this matter as well”, he noted.
During their visit to Cyprus, representatives from the French company will also meet with the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA).
