The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will begin a mass installation of smart meters on Monday as part of efforts to upgrade the power grid and improve energy efficiency.
The programme will cover several urban areas including Stasinou, Digeni Akrita, and John Kennedy in Nicosia; Germasogeia, Agios Athanasios, Enaerios, and Neapolis in Limassol; Finikoudes in Larnaca; and Kato Paphos.
The authority warned that power interruptions lasting up to 20 minutes will occur during metre replacements due to safety requirements.
EAC has asked for public understanding regarding any inconvenience.
