ATA talks to continue on Friday as union meeting with ministers concludes

Negotiations over the Automatic Cost of Living Adjustment (CoLA/ATA) mechanism continued Thursday as trade unions concluded their meeting with Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou, following earlier discussions with employer organisations.

Finance Minister Makis Keravnos participated in both meetings, underscoring the economic importance of the negotiations.

Like their employer counterparts earlier in the day, union representatives refrained from making statements after their approximately two-hour meeting, adhering to the agreed moratorium on public comments during the sensitive negotiations.

Sources indicate that the negotiation process remains ongoing, with meetings scheduled to continue throughout Friday. The discussions aim to reach a permanent agreement between the two sides on the implementation of the cost-of-living adjustment mechanism.
