The occupation regime is now helping itself to British state property in the occupied areas. And it doesn’t stop there: it has its eye on a UNFICYP camp as well.
The so-called mayor of occupied Famagusta, Süleyman Uluçay, announced that work has begun to convert the old British embassy building, used for years as the “town hall”, into a cultural and arts centre.
What does the British embassy have to say about this? Have they objected, have they protested, or not? The fake mayor also claimed that the UNFICYP peacekeeping camp in Famagusta is holding back the city’s development, voicing his hope that, should the site ever be vacated, it be used for “the public interest”.
