Community leaders in Tylliria will call for stronger action if there is no progress by Monday on opening the Kokkina crossing point, which remains closed, the Tylliria Communities Complex Council said.
The community leaders met on Friday to discuss information about the opening of crossing points, with particular focus on Kokkina. Their decision, aimed at pressing the demand for the crossing to open, was unanimous, according to a statement.
Details of the action and of any events that may be held will be announced later, the statement said.
The council also renewed its appeal to President Nikos Christodoulides to stand firm and “keep his promises to Tylliria”.
The statement was signed by Nikos Kleanthous, president of the Tylliria Communities Complex Council and of the Kato Pyrgos community council.
