Police arrested 11 men aged 19 to 24 for unlawful assembly in the Mesa Geitonia area of Limassol early on Thursday, after a report that a group of 10 to 15 people was fighting in the street.
The report came in at around 1.20am. Patrols went straight to Megalou Alexandrou Street, where they found a number of people arguing heatedly. Two of them had blood on their faces.
Officers arrested the 11 men at the scene and took them to the Limassol Minor Offences Unit, where their identities and residence status were checked.
The checks showed that five of the men were living in the Republic of Cyprus illegally, and they were also arrested for illegal stay.
The Limassol Minor Offences Unit is continuing its investigation.
