Hail expected in Thursday storms before weather improves

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with local rain at times and isolated thunderstorms, which are expected to bring hail, before the weather improves noticeably from late afternoon. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly until Sunday and will stay below normal for the time of year.

Winds will start out southerly to southwesterly, light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and will gradually turn southwesterly to northwesterly at the same strength. During thunderstorms they will be variable and stronger. The sea will be generally slight to rough.

Temperatures will rise to around 26C inland and on the coast, and to around 15C on the higher mountains.

On Thursday night, cloud will increase locally, and isolated rain is possible on the coast, especially in the west and north, where an isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. Winds will gradually become light land breezes, at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be slight at first, becoming generally calm to slight later.

Friday will be partly cloudy, with isolated rain and thunderstorms expected after midday, mainly in the mountains, inland and in the north.

On Saturday, cloud will increase locally at times and is expected to bring isolated rain or a thunderstorm, mainly in the mountains and the north. Isolated rain or isolated thunderstorms are expected in the west in the evening.

Sunday will start mostly cloudy with isolated rain or a thunderstorm, but will soon become mainly fine with temporary increases in cloud.
