A woman aged around 60 was rescued after being pulled unconscious from the sea at SODAP beach in Paphos on Sunday afternoon, with three lifeguards providing emergency assistance before she regained consciousness.
The incident occurred at around 4.45 pm, when the woman was brought out of the water unconscious.
Three lifeguards on duty responded immediately and assessed her condition, establishing that she was still breathing despite being unresponsive.
They placed her in the recovery position and administered oxygen, continuously monitoring her condition.
The woman subsequently regained consciousness and was taken by ambulance to hospital. She was conscious and responsive during the journey.
The rescue involved lifeguards Savvas Mavros, Pavlos Perikleous and Georgios Fettas, who responded to the emergency.
A social media post praised the three lifeguards for their swift response and effective handling of the incident, highlighting the importance of having trained lifeguards on beaches.
