Traffic was heavy on the Limassol-Paphos motorway on Wednesday between the Kouklia weighbridge and Agia Varvara, where both lanes heading towards Agia Varvara have been closed, police said.
Traffic is being diverted onto the opposite carriageway, which is temporarily running in both directions. Road works are under way on that stretch.
Severe weather in the area is making conditions worse. Police urged drivers to take extra care, keep their speed down and follow the instructions of officers at the scene.
