Nicosia, The Shoe Factory, 8.30pm. Spanish percussion ensemble BOOST makes its Cyprus debut in a concert that culminates in the world premiere of Andys Skordis’s new work ‘Zourrrrr…’, with Giorgos Georgiou on bass clarinet. The concert opens with ‘Trio per Uno’ by Nebojša Jovan Živković, followed by ‘1/3 Construction’ by Mikel Kuehn and John Cage’s ‘Third Construction’. ‘Zourrrrr…’, commissioned by Pharos, was written for BOOST and Giorgos Georgiou. Dance
Nicosia, Axiothea Mansion, 8.30pm. ‘Frear’ (The Well) is a contemporary dance performance by Maria Kamperi that explores memory as a continuous process of sinking and resurfacing. Dancer Natasa Frantzi and musician Dimitris Giasemidis create a live dialogue between movement and sound on stage, as part of the 29th University of Cyprus Cultural Festival. 22894531.

Journalists’ House (Dimosiografiki Estia), 7pm. Aigaion Publications presents Fanis Makridis’s book ‘Cyprus, the Hub of Surveillance’. The book records years of investigative journalism into the use of spyware, with findings that were also acknowledged by the European Parliament. Nicosia, Apokalypsi Gallery (22300150). Opening: 7.30pm. Marinos Kartikkis presents his new painting exhibition ‘Alternative Reality’, which also opens the gallery’s new exhibition season. Until 24 October.
Theatre
Nicosia, Nicosia Municipal Theatre Studio, 8pm. Nova Melancholia’s award-winning performance ‘Sebastian’, directed by Vasilis Noulas, comes to the Nicosia International Festival. It approaches Saint Sebastian not as a fixed religious image but as an ever-changing symbol of Western art and imagination. Nicosia, Ktirion 53, 8pm. Ktirion 53 presents the Cyprus premiere of British playwright Alistair McDowall’s ‘All of It’, directed by Maria Ioli Karolidou. The monologue, performed by Antonia Charalambous, follows an unnamed woman’s life from birth to final parting. Further performances: 7, 12, 14, 19 and 21 October, 8pm. Information: 70001384. Limassol, Pattichio Municipal Theatre, 7pm. Eleni Rantou returns to Cyprus with ‘The Party of My Life’, now in its fifth year. With humour and disarming honesty, Rantou unpacks 50 years of personal and collective trauma against the backdrop of modern Greece, in search of the reasons why life is worth living. The show is inspired by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe’s ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ but is not an adaptation of it. Tickets: Ticketmaster.

Noise Traffic: Events presents Tero Nauha’s live performance ‘A memoir 1’, the sound work ‘Spruce Spray Shadings’ (2022) by Freja Bäckman and ‘Conic Sections III’ with Emiddio Vasquez, in collaboration with the University of Nicosia and Fytorio, the Association of Visual Artists and Art Theorists.
Online lecture
The Cyprus Oral History Association is holding an online lecture titled ‘What Oral History Is and What It Researches’. The speaker is Georgios A. Kazamias, professor in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Cyprus. Attendance is free, but registration is required.
