Models from Ford, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other well-known manufacturers are among the cars, motorcycles and parts flagged as dangerous on the EU’s Safety Gate alert system in weeks 37, 38 and 39 of 2026, the Road Transport Department said.
The department asked manufacturers, their representatives and distributors, importers and sellers, including those who sell online or at a distance, to inform it if they may have placed or are placing such products on the market in Cyprus.
The cars listed include models from Ford, BMW, Jeep, Land Rover, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Kia, Dodge, Cadillac and Renault Trucks. Motorcycles from BMW Motorrad, BRP Can-Am, Rewaco and Hengjian are also on the list.
The department said it had been informed by the Consumer Protection Service. Safety Gate is the EU’s rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products.
