Donald Trump again highlighted his close relationship with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday when asked about delays in lifting US sanctions on Turkey under the CAATSA law.
“I will always talk to President Erdogan. He’s a friend of mine, as you know. And I will always make him happy,” Trump told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House when asked what was holding up the removal of the sanctions.
Trump and Erdogan have maintained close contact, including a bilateral meeting in Ankara in July.
