Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos has thanked Israel’s outgoing Ambassador to Cyprus, Oren Anolik, for his dedication and valuable contribution to the Cyprus-Israel strategic partnership over the past five years.
The two held a farewell meeting to mark the end of Anolik’s tenure in Cyprus, the Foreign Ministry said in a post on X on Friday. Kombos wished him every success in the future.
In a separate post, the ministry said Kombos addressed the inaugural event of the Cyprus Chapter of the Transatlantic Friends of Israel, a network of lawmakers from Europe, North America and Israel. He welcomed the initiative and highlighted Cyprus’s strategic relations with the United States and Israel.

In a separate protest last year, activists from groups including BDS Cyprus and United for Palestine Nicosia held a week-long vigil outside the palace, reading out the names of Palestinians reported killed in Gaza for 12 hours a day. They demanded that Cyprus end all military and economic cooperation with Israel and impose a complete arms embargo.
