Will Engomi even still exist by the time they figure it out?

The news tells us the District Local Government Organisation (DLGO) of Nicosia is launching an urgent investigation into why Engomi keeps flooding, specifically 28th October Avenue and the wider area.

And here’s the best bit: the DLGO itself admits, “this is a complicated case that requires thorough investigation and, above all, time, since we’ll first need to identify the causes of the problem and then fix decades’ worth of accumulated failures and neglect.”

So here we are in 2026, and they still haven’t worked out why Engomi floods, and now we’re told it’ll take even more time just to figure out what to actually do about it. At this rate, I fully expect Lakatamia to merge with Agios Dometios any day now, because Engomi simply won’t be there anymore.
