A 38-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation, while the Kofinou Regional Police Station continues its inquiries.
According to the information under investigation, at around 11.45 pm on August 28, the two men arrived at a petrol station in Larnaca district in the 32-year-old’s vehicle to refuel.
During refuelling, while the 38-year-old was near the fuel pump, he allegedly lit a lighter, resulting in an ignition and the outbreak of a fire.
Nearby residents extinguished the blaze using a fire extinguisher. The fire caused damage to the 32-year-old’s vehicle and the fuel pump.
