Cyprus’s mountain and semi-mountain villages tend to be cooler in summer than the coast, and offer traditional accommodation and a slower pace than the island’s more popular tourist areas. Prices and options vary, so it can work for a weekend, a family trip, a day out, or longer, depending on budget.

The countryside changes with the seasons: colour and scent in spring, cooler weather in summer, the grape harvest and food events in autumn, and stays near a fireplace in winter.
