Police on patrol in Ayia Napa arrested two men shortly after midnight after one of them pushed an officer during a stop, and both were found carrying items considered offensive weapons.
Officers spotted the two men, one holding a piece of wood and the other a bottle, which raised concern. During a conversation with the pair, one of the men, who appeared to be intoxicated, pushed a police officer and was arrested for a flagrant offence.
Both men were arrested for the flagrant offence of possessing offensive weapons.
They are expected to appear before court today for the case to be filed as urgent.
