An explosion caused by a device planted near the front of a butcher’s shop in Paphos damaged two premises in the early hours of Thursday, with the CID now leading the investigation.

Police received a report of the explosion at around 3:30 am. Investigators established that the blast was caused by an explosive device placed near the shop’s facade. The butcher’s shop sustained extensive damage, and a second adjacent premises was also damaged.
The Paphos CID is continuing its investigation.
