A total of 285,502 voters had cast their ballots by 3:00 p.m. today, bringing the countrywide turnout rate to 49.8 per cent of eligible electors.
According to official figures released by the Chief Electoral Officer, participation has climbed by 4.7 percentage points compared to the exact same hour during the 2021 legislative elections.
Famagusta currently registers the highest regional participation rate at 53.9 per cent, with Nicosia following closely at 52,4 per cent. Conversely, Limassol marks the lowest domestic turnout at 44.9 per cent.
Election officials reminded the public that polling stations will remain open until 6:00 p.m. Citizens who have not yet voted are urged to cast their ballots in a timely manner rather than waiting until the final hour to prevent overcrowding at voting centers.
