Arsenal supporters in Cyprus erupted in joy after Manchester City’s draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday confirmed the Gunners as Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years.
The long-awaited title sparked celebrations across Cyprus. Many fans described a mix of relief and euphoria following three consecutive second-place finishes.
Anastasios Nikandrou, manager of the Arsenal Cyprus Supporters Facebook page, told en.philenews the success is a special moment for the club and its supporters. “Twenty-two years was a very long wait for Arsenal supporters. This team fully deserved it. The emotions are overwhelming. Since last night, we have all gone crazy celebrating. Mikel Arteta has reconnected the supporters with the club in a unique way — we felt like one family playing alongside the team,” he said.
Fans praised the team’s discipline and tactical approach. Another Gooner, Giannis commented, “Winning is what makes champions. Zero goals conceded, all wins. We’re competing for everything, and we’re going all the way.” George added: “Now that the pressure of one trophy is gone, I believe our chances in the Champions League have increased. The main goal was the trophy, and the results show the team’s consistency and mentality.”
Supporters also expressed excitement for the Champions League final. Constantinos said: “Many might have doubted, but we believed. With the Premier League title secured, you will see beautiful football again. We’ll go to the final with faith to bring the trophy back to London.” Maria added: “In Arteta we trust!.”
The Arsenal Supporters Club Cyprus, which has around 650 official members, has organised a 25th anniversary event in Limassol on June 5, featuring former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour. The event will include memorabilia such as a signed shirt. Supporters can contact local organisers for tickets:

Gatherings and watch parties are also being held in Nicosia and Limassol, with fan meet-ups planned in every major city for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Nikandrou highlighted the central role of Joseph Petrou, saying: “One member who has done more than anyone to help nurture the Arsenal community in Cyprus is Joseph Petrou.
