Restaurant worker burned after fryer fire in Limassol

A restaurant worker was injured on Friday after a fire broke out in an oil fryer in the kitchen of a restaurant at the Fishing Shelter in Limassol.

According to the Fire Service, firefighters used extinguishers and foam to put out the blaze.

The fire destroyed the restaurant’s kitchen equipment.

An employee suffered burns to various parts of his body while trying to extinguish the fire and was taken to a private hospital.

The fire was attributed to overheated oil.

The Fire Service said it responded to 52 incidents over the past 24 hours, including 26 fires, 25 special services and one false call.
