Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis handed the report of the investigative team concerning Makarios Drousiotis’s allegations in the “Sandy” affair to Justice Minister Costas Fytiris today.
According to the briefing, the Justice Minister will study the report and subsequently brief the President of the Republic. “Any public position on the matter is expected to be taken after the President of the Republic has been briefed,” police said.
The investigative file is expected to be completed with the addition of a report being prepared by Europol, after which the investigative work will be concluded. The Europol report has not yet been delivered but is expected within days.
The Sandy affair centres on allegations made by investigative journalist Makarios Drousiotis involving messages and networks of officials. The affair has prompted legal proceedings and has drawn in a number of senior figures.
