A 37-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport early today after authorities found he was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant.
The man had arrived at the airport at around 3.30am to travel abroad when passport control checks showed the warrant was pending against him.
The warrant concerns offences of participation in a criminal organisation, cybercrime and embezzlement of a large sum of money, allegedly committed in 2022 in a European country.
Police arrested the 37-year-old and placed him in custody. He is expected to appear before Larnaca District Court in the coming days for the start of extradition proceedings.
