A 40-year-old driver was arrested yesterday after he crashed into a police car whilst trying to evade officers in Limassol.

At about 2.30 p.m., police on patrol signalled the driver to stop for a check. He refused to stop and kept driving recklessly, crashing into the police vehicle before his car was immobilised.

Police found watches, jewellery, car keys, a knife, two clubs and a small amount of cannabis inside the vehicle.

The driver was arrested for illegal possession of property and tested positive in a preliminary drug test.

Limassol Traffic Police, the Central Police Station and Limassol Drug Squad are investigating.
