The time of Wednesday’s Education Committee session, where teacher evaluation is due for discussion, has been changed.
According to reports, the meeting will now take place at 2pm, after lessons at secondary schools finish.
It remains to be seen what OELMEK trade union will decide regarding the strike action it had announced for Wednesday morning from 7:30am to 11am, and whether primary school teachers’ union POED will proceed with mobilisations.
Parents have reacted to the teachers’ strike announcement, with the Pan-Cyprian Confederation of Secondary Education Parents issuing a statement asking for pupils not to attend school at all on Wednesday due to the strike.
Primary education teachers’ trade union POED has also announced a strike for Wednesday, November 26, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.
